TPU heat transfer film: Offers good elasticity; when used on sportswear, it can withstand over 200 machine washes. It costs 3–5 times as much as PVC.
Flocked heat transfer film: Features a velvety texture on the surface; commonly used for children’s clothing and home goods; note that the pile height must be matched to the heat press time
When selecting a model, we recommend focusing on three key factors in order of priority:
First, consider the substrate material
Pure cotton/blended fabrics: Choose a heat-transfer film with good breathability
Chemical fibers/synthetic leather: Use a high-temperature digital direct-to-fabric (DTF) film
Silicone/metal: Must use an industrial-grade film with a strong adhesive backing
Then determine the production process
Small-batch customization: DTF direct-to-fabric film is better suited for complex designs
Mass production: Pre-printed roll-fed films offer higher efficiency
Finally, verify the technical specifications
The number of wash cycles must exceed the customer’s requirement by at least 50%
The operating temperature range must be compatible with existing equipment
